We have an exciting opportunity at Downer Group for a Collections Specialist role. This role is integral to achieving optimised cash flow, service delivery, and compliance in the Order to Cash (O2C) function.
This is a permanent role with a hybrid work arrangement. You will be part of collaborative, close-knit team.
Reporting to the O2C BSC Tower Lead, the Collections Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts receivable process for the Trans-Tasman region, ensuring efficient collections, maintaining strong client relationships, overseeing and assisting Managed Services Provider (MSP) service delivery, and driving continuous performance improvements.
About Your Role
The Collections Specialist role is part of the Finance Services team and is accountable for managing the collections process, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and collaborating with business units, clients, and the Managed Services Provider (MSP) to ensure quality delivery and compliance. This includes:
Timely collections and minimal overdue accounts. Accurate reconciliation and efficient dispute resolution. Achievement of O2C KPIs and SLA compliance. Strong relationships and aligned solutions with stakeholders. Effective issue resolution and service improvement. High team collaboration and accountability. Full compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Background in financial reporting, KPI tracking, and audit processes. Familiarity with Managed Services models (MSP) and internal controls. Strong understanding of service levels and outcomes within O2C and Managed Services models (MSP).About You:
You are a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships. You have the capability to manage service delivery, meet SLAs, and drive service improvements. You also possess strong problem-solving skills. You will also bring with you:
5+ years in commercial collections, debtor management, and service delivery. Experience working with Managed Services Providers (MSP) or outsourced teams. In-depth knowledge of O2C principles, credit management, and collections strategies. Proven ability to manage service delivery and relationships with business units, clients, and MSP. Experience working with outsourced service teams and managing day-to-day operations will be an advantage.
