Collections Reporting Specialist II

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Collections Reporting Specialist II at our San Antonio, Texas service center. The Collection Reporting Specialist is accountable for the design and delivery of meaningful reporting of data and analytics supporting collections strategic initiatives. The Collection Reporting Specialist will design and build technical reporting solutions that support and enhance collection unit decision-making, and ensure data is stored, collected, and disseminated throughout the collection unit and PenFed. *This role is expected to be onsite in our San Antonio, Texas office 4 days a week.* Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work with collection leadership and others in consumer banking to create new reports that are impactful to the collection strategy. Maintain historical reports on the performance and liquidation of accounts. Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests. Conduct regular and ad hoc analytical efforts and provide recommendations for enhancements to current reports. Participate in internal and external audits, and regulatory examinations, as needed. Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout. Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports and creating an open dialogue with upper management regarding the interpretation of the data. Create business reports that provide insight into key data points. Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers. Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends. Ensure that the data accuracy of all reports include data validation and quality checks. Produce proof of concepts to better demonstrate potential and/or proposed solutions to internal collection stakeholders and others at PenFed needing collections information. Develop and document user guides relating to reports. Partner with various teams across Consumer Banking to coordinate report distribution and knowledge sharing across the organization, including to key stakeholder for executive meetings. Represent Collections (and PenFed) in Investor calls identifying and reporting collection issues with investor-owned accounts. Effect changes as necessary when it comes to Investor-owned loans to ensure that PenFed is not only performing at the standard Service Level Agreement (SLA) but also providing information requested by Investors to be great partners. Assist Leadership in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Highlighting and calling out potential concerns. Provide training and support to Leadership and the collection department on reporting tools and data interpretation. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Associate’s degree in related field required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in analyzing data and interpreting data to draw logical conclusions. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the creation of presentations with data sets for distribution to groups. Minimum of one (1) year experience with Tableau and SQL and relational databases. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers. Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions. Ability to pay close attention to small details, ensuring accuracy with results. Extensive knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flows. Effective time management, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Power user in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and Power Point required. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications No additional licenses or certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is not required.
