Collections/Accounts Receivable
Reports to: Collections Manager Collection Specialist Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires strong communication skills, persistence, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers while upholding company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: + Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments. + Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to collect outstanding balances. + Negotiate payment plans and ensure adherence to agreed terms. + Maintain detailed records of collection activities and customer interactions. + Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies. + Review and analyze aging reports and escalate delinquent accounts as needed. + Recommend accounts for further action (e.g., legal, collections agency). + Assist in month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable. + Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant laws and regulations. + Prepare regular reports on collection status and performance metrics. Collections Specialist Requirements + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. + Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar role. + Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage 300, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is a plus. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.   Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement Crane 1 Services is an equal opportunity employer.
