The Colleague & Labor Relations team (CLR) is part of the HR team Italy (Colleague Experience Group) and is responsible for delivering the highest quality employment and labor relations solutions. CLR helps create and maintain positive colleague relationships, offers advice and support to colleagues and people leaders to solve employment-related matters and provides a fair and consistent colleague experience while ensuring policies and practices are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Support the implementation of the CLR strategies within the Italian market, contributing to fair and consistent colleague experience, supporting the business in powering up their growth and helping to minimize risk exposure. Work closely with HR (Colleague Experience Group colleagues) in the market, sitting within a team which prides itself on its expertise and its collaborative spirit. Provide comprehensive advice to business leaders on a high volume of CLR cases covering all aspects of the employment relationship, such as collective bargaining, disciplinary, complaints, performance, absence, flexible working, redundancy, contractual changes, etc. Monitor and understand changes in Italy and EU Employment Law to support the development of proactive strategic solutions whilst maintaining compliance. Deliver tailored trainings for leaders and colleagues on key topics to drive consistency, ensure legal compliance and educate on Leadership Behaviors and American Express culture. Support information/consultation activity across Italy including the relationship with the Workers Councils and Unions when required. Drive a proactive data-driven approach and support the introduction of innovative ways of working to unlock enterprise value and ensuring a great colleague and leader experience during the whole colleague lifecycle. Partner effectively with key stakeholders such as the broader Global Colleague and Labor Relations teams, Business Leaders, HR colleagues, and third-party suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications:

University degree and at least 2 years’ experience in labor law and labor matters, ideally within a corporate environment. Experience in employee privacy and/or unions relationship are advantageous. Self-motivated, empathetic team player capable of managing sensitive conversations and building strong and fair relationships within complex organizations Strong communication and influencing skills Analytical mindset Structured, independent and results-oriented Personal balance and resilience Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel (familiar to pivot tables and formulas language) and PowerPoint Proficient in both Italian and English, written and spoken
