Description We are looking for a dedicated Coaching Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of child care programs by providing coaching, technical assistance, and training services. Working within the Quality Rating Improvement System framework, you will support child care providers in implementing quality improvement plans and achieving program goals.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver coaching and technical assistance to child care programs, focusing on areas such as classroom environments, teacher-child interactions, and program assessments.
• Conduct virtual and in-person coaching sessions and provide training on developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum.
• Facilitate networking opportunities and act as a resource for participants on topics related to child development and growth.
• Assist child care providers in developing portfolios and reflecting on their progress to support continuous improvement.
• Create and implement Quality Improvement Plans aligned with program goals and conduct monthly coaching sessions to ensure progress.
• Maintain compliance with program requirements by staying up to date with contracts, frameworks, and tools.
• Collaborate with coaching staff and other team members to provide holistic support to child care sites.
• Build connections with local higher education institutions and development resources to enhance program offerings.
• Document work activities and track progress to ensure goals are met.
• Participate in community events to promote program visibility and stakeholder engagement. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, including 24 ECE units or a Program Director Permit; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least three years of experience in a child care setting, with expertise in working with adult learners and diverse populations.
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles applicable to non-profit organizations.
• Proven administrative skills with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to conduct training sessions and provide individualized coaching support.
• Familiarity with quality improvement frameworks and tools.
• Excellent communication skills to maintain effective collaboration and program implementation.
• Willingness to participate in community events and maintain program visibility. TalentMatch®
