Job Description

The Firmware Engineering Co-op will perform project-oriented work under the direction of firmware development engineers that are focused on developing firmware for implementing features to control variable frequency drives (VFDs).

This role is full-time on-site at the Rockwell Automation Cambridge, ON office and does not provide relocation.

Your Responsibilities:

Design and develop firmware.

Product testing and certification.

Coding activities (C/C++ and/or MATLAB/Simulink).

Maintain and develop test setups.

Maintain firmware metrics.

Document firmware applications and components.

Research into new technologies.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.

Available to work a minimum of 9 months consecutively starting in September 2025.

Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

Must be working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

Previous internship or co-op experience.

Experience with C/C++ or MATLAB/Simulink.

Exposure to oscilloscopes, multimeters and other hardware tools.

Knowledge of PLC programming and Control Systems.
