CNC Technician - Optical Manufacturing (Cutting) Location: Richardson, TX Job ID: #71348 Pay Range: $27-29 CNC Technician, Optical Manufacturing (Cutting) Shift: 1st Shift Only Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM Job Description: Manufacture precision optics and optical components. Read and interpret optical drawings/specs including GD&T. Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data. Independently set up and operate lathes, flycutters, polishing equipment, and other manual/CNC machines. Use interferometers and CMMs to inspect parts for quality. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and technicians. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs. Required Skills: + Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. + Strong geometry and trigonometry skills. + Ability to work any shift including compressed schedules. + Multi-tasking skills for managing multiple machines. + Dexterity handling delicate optical components. Desired Skills: + Two-year technical degree preferred. + Basic knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds. + Experience measuring ultra-precision components. + Experience setting up and cutting freeform optical components. + CNC G-Code programming experience. + Experience with Calypso or DIFFSYS programming. + Experience with surface quality standards and inspection methods.
