Job DescriptionThe CNC Programmer Machinist will support the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC milling and lather machines in the Tool Room. The machinist will assist in maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Key AccountabilitiesAssist in setting up and operating CNC milling machines and lathesLoad materials and monitor machine operations during productionLearn to write, modify, and troubleshoot basic CNC programsUse calipers, micrometers, and indicators to inspect part dimensionsSupport general upkeep and 5S of the Tool Room and its equipmentFollow safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work areaLearn to read blueprints and follow verbal instructions to complete partsAssist with tooling setups and basic machine maintenanceParticipate in reverse engineering and tooling projects under guidancePerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/RequirementsBasic understanding of CNC machinery and machining processesFamiliarity with calipers, gauges, and hand toolsBasic math and measurement skillsAbility to hold tolerances within .0005 inches

Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED requiredTechnical training or machining coursework preferred5 years of experience in CNC operationExperience with blueprint reading, GibbsCAM software and close tolerance is a plus
