Job Description

Your tasks 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

The CNC Programmer creates machining instructions. This work often includes reviewing three-dimensional computer-aided/automated design (CAD) blueprints, determining where to cut, and other calculations. The Programmer then translates the instructions into a computer aided/automated manufacturing (CAM) program. The Programmer and/or the Operator of the machine check the program through first piece run off and first piece inspection approval. Other responsibilities:

Creates setup sheets with tooling and work-holding detailsCreates programs to control the operation sequence and cycling of CNC turning and milling centersUtilizes drawings or CAD models to support program developmentUtilizes CAM software to produce programsSupports process optimization and machine utilization with updates as necessaryProvides input on process decisions and strategiesExperience performing full set-ups, program edits, and holding tolerances as tight as +/- .0001"Complete understanding of machine control management, including mastering of all machine code terminology, usage, along with macro programming usageAwareness of cutting tool technology, to support application optimizationComplete understanding and awareness of measurement tool usageComplete understanding of work-holding strategies and usageAbility to communicate application status both to department team to shop level associates, in terms of application status, issues, and requirementsTrouble-shooting skills and ability to think criticallyAbility to read prints and update paperwork neatly, accurately, and in an organized mannerWorks within company policy as outlined in the Continental HandbookPerforms other duties as assigned by the manager as needed

THE ENVIRONMENT

This includes wearing safety-toed shoes and safety glasses.This role is within a climate-controlled facility.The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

High School Diploma or Equivalent3 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceModerate proficiency in CAM techniquesExpert understanding of geometric construction, working drawings, and engineering terms and standardsProficient in the current release of AutoDesk FeatureCam Ultimate software preferredDemonstrated effective spoken and written communication skillsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Pay Transparency Language

Hourly Postings (set starting pay):

The hourly range for this position is $24.00 – 40.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program. Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
