The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a(n) CNC Machinist - Programmer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: + Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes and waterjets to produce precision parts and components + Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings + Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of parts + Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines + Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to ensure quality and efficiency + Maintain a safe and clean work environment Your Skills and Expertise + Experience as a CNC machinist + Proficient in operating and maintaining CNC mills and lathes + Knowledge of programming and G-code + Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics + Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments + Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines + Strong communication and collaboration skills + Ability to work independently and as part of a team To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree preferred + Three (3) years of experience working with CNC equipment such as mills, lathes and waterjets in a private, public, government or military environment + Current, valid Driver’s License. Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.
