The Opportunity | Machinist – Large CNC Vertical Lathes 3rd Shift

With our continuing growth, Curtiss Wright is looking to add experienced Machinists to our new, state-of-the-art Summerville, SC (Charleston) facility!

This is a great opportunity for those with a strong CNC machining background and experience with Large Vertical Lathes to join CW’s efforts to support the United States Navy and commercial customers.

Your Challenge:

Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes to perform precision machining to tolerances within 0.001Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to determine machining requirementsMeasure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specificationsSelect appropriate tooling and materials for each jobMaintain machines, perform minor repairs, and report mechanical issues to maintenanceMonitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and toolingDocument production and inspection results accuratelyFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Your Expertise:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is an assetMinimum of 3+ years in CNC machines experience operating vertical lathesExperience operating Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, and Momentum 2500 is preferredAbility to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level and effectively communicate with othersLifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting 10 feetMust be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
