CNC Machinist
We have an outstanding career opportunity for aCNC Machinist to join a leading Company located in theSandston, VA surrounding area. Job Responsibilities: + Utilize machine tools to produce components and steel rolls that conform to blueprints and engineering specifications. + Promote a safe working environment. + Identify and demonstrate use of machine safety and personal protection equipment. + Demonstrate compliance with safety procedures, OSHA requirements and guidelines. + Analyze work orders, job specifications, blueprints and details. + Proper setup, adjustment and operation of assigned machine tools to safely produce parts to specification . + Observe machine operations to detect problems, make necessary adjustments, and recommend changes in design or specifications to reduce cost , add value, and improve efficiency and performance. + Provide solutions and options for rework and warranty. + Transport parts or rolls on transport dollies and/or safe forklift operation . + Lift and safely position workpieces with hoists and secure on machines. + Perform assigned duties in a timely fashion or time allotted. + Miscellaneous housekeeping and maintenance to ensure clean and safe work area. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Basic Hiring Criteria: + Ability to listen and understand information, follow written and oral instruction , and take notes during training periods. + Ability to read and understand procedures, router and other job instructions. + Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications with knowledge of geometric tolerances. + Effective, operational knowledge of machine shop tools, power tools, and other equipment. Knowledge of manual machine tool operation is a plus. + Knowledge in use of measuring instruments and their application, including bore gauges, micrometers, feeler gauges, surface finish testers, surface plates, height gauges , etc . + Ability to identify differences, issues, or detect changes in operational performance. + CMM experience a plus. + Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and geometry. + Knowledge of basic PC operation and use for timekeeping. + Ability to work in a team environment. + Adaptable to changing work environment with competing demands and frequent changes.
