Job Responsibilities: Maintain precision equipment to reduce downtime. Review and interpret technical drawings and models. Set up, calibrate, and program CNC machine to execute specific manufacturing tasks. Make adjustments during operation to achieve desired tolerances (0.02mm). Inspect final machined product to ensure conformity by making use of measuring equipment like verniers and calipers. Remove and finally machine the newly installed labyrinths on various rotors. Machine rotor blade tips to specified dimensions. Burnish probe tracks. Machine and radial grinding of bearing journals. Axial grinding of thrust collars. Collaborating with engineers, managers, and fellow team members. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to Health & Safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements: Qualified Artisan - Trade Certificate (Red Seal). Technical training in the operation of large CNC Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical borers. Online programming of CNC controls, Fagor, Siemens, and Fanuc. Previous experience of machining large Turbine, Compressor, and Blower rotors exceeding 20tons (at least 10 years). Excellent communication skills and fluency in English to liaise effectively with the workshop, customers, suppliers/subcontractors, and management. Deadline driven. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
