The CMPT ISQ Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing QC testing in a lab environment based on established test methods, and assisting with new metrology qualifications and implementation. This position reports to the CMPT Delaware ISQ Lab Manager and will be hired to work on the following shift:
Day shift – 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Your key responsibilities:
Collect and analyze samples, and verify products meet requirements.
Perform laboratory analyses/operations for incoming raw materials in support of manufacturing operations.
Perform chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using routine techniques in compliance with all safety and control standards.
Record results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepare reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines.
Participate in test method development and continuous improvement work.
Perform skilled operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
May also perform laboratory analyses/operations for product quality, in-process samples, effluents, and materials testing in support of manufacturing operations, or may support other scientists in operations of laboratories, test/pilot facilities and in performing laboratory analyses.
Perform Gage R&R studies on equipment and methods.
Engage in Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis for raw material data and testing.
Maintain lab supply inventory.
Coordinate with instrument vendors for PMs and repair work.
Properly handle and dispose of hazardous chemicals and wastes.
Complete safety observations as required, participate in safety improvements.
Comply with all safe chemical handling practices.
Travel locally between manufacturing campus laboratories.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline in a laboratory environment;
Ability to prioritize and complete routine testing in a timely, reproducible manner independently and within teams.
Previous knowledge of chemical safety protocols and PPE, and previous work in fume hood or ventilated enclosures.
Ability to work with people at all levels.
Excellent communication, analysis, troubleshooting and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail to prevent and minimize errors.
The following skills are preferred, but not required:
Previous experience with statistical process analysis strongly preferred.
Experience with liquid chromatography techniques, including HPLC, gel permeation chromatography / size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC) strongly preferred.
Experience with trace metals analysis techniques, including ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS.
Experience with wet chemistry techniques, including viscosity, titrations, Karl Fischer, and filtrations.
Prior work experience in an industrial environment (manufacturing, warehousing, or equivalent trade).
Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time.
Lift and/or move a minimum of 30 pounds.
Grasp and hold small objects.
Wear personal protective equipment for extended periods.
