CMM Technician

We have an Excellent career for opportunity for a CMM Technician to join a leading Company located in  Newport, NH. 1st Shift 8:00 to 5:00 pm (can be flexible to start as early as 6:00 am)Pay Rate $18.00 to $30 per hour DOE.This position will provide CMM programming and inspection support, delivering critical inspection results. The Technician will provide programming for new product development, supplier components, and ongoing production. The position will support the calibration of this equipment within the firearms manufacturing & assembly process. The position is critical for product and process development in a highly CNC-intensive factory setting. Core knowledge of CNC machining is a significant plus to success in this position.
Responsibilities:Create CMM Programs for point of use inspection (Equator: MODUS, Hexagon: PC DMIS)Perform a complete inspection of machined parts, manufactured internally or supplier-purchased partsInterpret inspection results, seek management disposition of materialDevelop standard job instructions and train technicians on proper CMM gaging techniquesAssist Product and Manufacturing Engineering with Production Inspection Results to drive short and long-term capability in processesEstablish and provide support for proper CMM fixture setup and design
Ideal Candidate Profile:Modus and PC-DMIS software skills:  provide immediate impactAbility to gather and analyze measurement data and report to managementCommunication proficiency within the manufacturing plant organizationMust demonstrate technical capacity, thoroughness, and good time management skillsMust be capable of working independently with little supervisionAbility to share experiences with the team and leadership through effective communication
Basic Hiring Criteria:Diploma from an accredited two or four-year technical school, military, or trade schoolMinimum 1-3 years of job experience in CMM programming using Modus SoftwareStrong computer skills – Excel experience required, with Minitab a plusStrong understanding of mathematical and numerical conceptsAdvanced knowledge of general metrology instruments and methods: height stands, calipers, micrometers, comparators, Surface Plate to CMM capability, etcStrong understanding of blueprints utilizing Geometric Dimensional Tolerance Control
Desired Qualifications:3-5 years of quality inspection experienceTwo-year technical degree with 2 years of job experience (or equivalent on-the-job experience)Perform first article/PPAP inspections for externally supplied partsStrong communication skills with internal stakeholders and suppliersStrong organizational and problem-solving skill set (5 whys / 8D / Six Sigma)Ability to perform and mentor gage R&R studies on new and existing gaugesASQ Certified Calibration Technician
