Job Description
This role requires a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to perform inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The successful candidate will create, debug, and verify CMM programs using VeriSurf software while collaborating with customers to ensure program alignment. You will be responsible for conducting AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) and generating corresponding reports, as well as providing feedback to the program management team regarding labor hours required for CMM inspections. Additionally, you will work closely with the Program Management team to provide inspection quotes and lead times.
ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections using CMM and create, debug, and verify CMM programs running VeriSurf software.Collaborate with customers for alignment on CMM programs.Conduct AS9102 FAI inspections and generate corresponding reports.Provide feedback to program management team for labor hours to perform a CMM inspection.Work alongside Program Management team to provide inspection quotes and lead times.Utilize strong knowledge of inspection tools such as gauges and calipers.Communicate closely with production managers and program managers to resolve immediate issues.Approve final inspection products to meet specified requirements.Deliver inspection results to Program Managers and other departments as necessary.Document inspection results using internal QA database, FAIRs, AS9102 FAIR, PPAP reports.Document Non-Conforming Material/RMAs.Follow guidelines for using and maintaining measurement tools.Provide feedback to the QA Manager for any inspection issues.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge of GD&T.Experience with CMM programming and VeriSurf software.Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend basic instructions.Experience with inspection tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers.Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100D Standard.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and read drawings and understand symbols.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma at minimum with 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Previous experience using CMM or articulating arms.Experience using VeriSurf CMM software is a plus.Knowledge of FMEAs, corrective actions, and QMS systems.Work Environment
The work schedule is from 8am to 5pm. You will be part of a team consisting of 9 inspectors, 1 document control, and 1 supervisor.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr.
