We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CMM Inspector to join our quality assurance team in support of aerospace engineering operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and traditional inspection tools to ensure components meet stringent aerospace quality and compliance standards.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of precision-manufactured aerospace parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

Program, set up, and operate CMMs to inspect aerospace components to engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.

Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to perform accurate inspections.

Generate detailed inspection reports, including first article inspection (FAI) reports per AS9102 standards.

Work from blueprints, models, and CAD data to verify part compliance and identify non-conformances.

Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure adherence to customer and regulatory requirements.

Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure ongoing accuracy and reliability.

Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot dimensional issues and support root cause analysis.

Document and escalate quality issues in accordance with company procedures.

Ensure all work meets AS9100 and other aerospace-specific quality standards.

Work Experience

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in dimensional inspection within the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry.

Proficiency with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex aerospace drawings and models.

Experience with AS9102 FAI processes and documentation.

Familiarity with aerospace materials, tolerances, and quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.).

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience inspecting complex components such as turbine blades, structural assemblies, or machined aerospace parts.

Working knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and non-contact inspection methods (laser, optical).

Knowledge of ERP and QMS systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Plex, etc.).
