Job DescriptionThis role is focused on creating, enhancing, maintaining and protecting a high profile and positive public image and reputation for Minor Hotels properties. The role will focus on The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel, Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp, Avani Victoria Falls Resort.
Key duties (including but not limited to):
Develop and execute an overarching PR strategy for pre-opening and open hotelsDevelop promotional campaigns (awareness, teaser campaigns, rebranding etc.) and PR materials to build awareness for the hotelsDevelop and manage pre-opening and annual budgetsDevelop storytelling opportunities and pitch to mediaEstablish and maintain media lists for local and international marketsRegularly distribute media releases for the hotelsEstablish and maintain effective working and mutually beneficial relationships with key media across all marketsOrganize media stays and host media onsiteDevelop press kits and relevant PR written materialsWork with the property and Global PR team to appoint and brief international PR agencies as requiredOversee the property Social Media channels to develop strategy, content creation and ensure implementationMaintain accurate analysis and tracking for the PR campaign performance, business results and associated action planningOrganize and carry out media calls in local and international marketsProduce PR activity and coverage reports ensuring visibility of PR performance, including media value, brand mentions, and their correlation to business goalsSeek partnership, collaboration and competition opportunitiesEstablish list of key awards and listings and ensure properties are entered/nominated/listedUse digital software (Agility or other) to maintain awareness of Share-of-Voice and develop strategies to maintain a competitive position versus hotel comp-setProvide crisis communications in consultation with the corporate and property teamsConduct ongoing market research on relevant competitor hotel brands within the industry and keep property/corporate teams abreast of competitor activity across all marketsCollaborate with hotel teams at each resort to ensure PR initiatives are developed and integrated to support the overall business objectivesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in PR or communications, preferably in hospitality, lifestyle, or luxury sectors.
Strong media network within South Africa and international markets.
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Creative, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
On property and pre-opening experience of luxury and safari product would be an added benefit.
The candidate must be able to travel and be based on property for prolonged periods of time if require
