Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking students for Club Sports Event Supervisor positions. Event supervisors provide on site supervision and support for home games and other special events (on or near campus), such as orientation tabling and hockey ticket sales. Event supervisors also serve as a first responder in the case of an emergency. No prior experience is required, as all the necessary training and certifications will be provided (Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED). Shifts will take place on evenings and weekends during the fall and winter semesters.
Responsibilities*Open & close facilities for on campus eventsSet up and break down for on campus and off campus eventsSupervise club competitions or practicesEnforce rules and policies with participants and spectatorsProviding assistance to spectatorsComplete shift reports, injury reports and other documentation as necessaryAttend regularly scheduled staff meetingsPerform clerical duties and other assigned tasksRequired Qualifications*Current UM-Flint StudentAvailable to work in the evenings and on weekendsReliable transportation to off campus events Ability to work independently and efficientlyStrong verbal communication skillsAbility to successfully complete provided First Aid, CPR & AED certification courseDesired Qualifications*Desire to enter a medical field, event management, or other related field upon degree completionWork study award for the upcoming academic semester Modes of WorkOnsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
