Team OverviewOur Hosting team manages and supports the infrastructure of all our platforms, from hardware to software, to operating systems to PowerSchool products. This collaborative team helps meet the needs of an evolving technology and business model with a specialized focus on protecting customer data and keeping information secure.
Responsibilities DescriptionA Cloud Operations engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and best practices.
Your day-to-day job will consist of:
Execution of day-to-day tasks related to monitoring and managing cloud infrastructure to ensure service availability and data securityExecute ticket triage, investigation and resolution of reported incidentsParticipate in 24x7 on-call rotations to resolve incidents in support of production systemsMonitor and configure systems resources (memory, disks space & CPU utilization)Improve customer experience with infrastructure optimizationManage and perform operating system and application software patches and updatesPerforms root cause analysis on trended incidents and major outages up through the application stackDevelops automation that can trigger off a variety of industry standard monitoring tools to resolve common issues in the environment or maintain operating levels Qualifications Minimum Qualifications1-3 years’ experience supporting cloud-based applications and servicesBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent degree Minimum 2 years’ experience with application server technologies such as IIS, TomcatMinimum 2 years practical experience of Azure equivalent technologies such as VMs, NSGs, VPC/VNETs, Load Balancers, DNS, and certificate management1+ years’ experience in server administration and cloud deployment of both Windows and LinuxMinimum 1 years’ experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) orchestration technologies such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Bicep, Terraform or comparable (demonstrable proficiency or professional experience in same preferred)Familiarty with web application firewallsFamiliarty with AI toolingProblem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and attention to detail.
