About this opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled Software Architect to lead the design and management of our Cloud Native Applications deployment and networking architecture within Kubernetes container environments.
What you will do:
As a Software Architect specializing in Kubernetes deployment architecture, you will be responsible for overseeing the application deployment lifecycle management and ensuring robust connectivity and networking solutions for containerized applications deployed in Kubernetes clusters. You will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and network teams to design scalable and secure deployment architectures. Additionally, you will take a leadership role driving collaboration with the IMS system and technology teams to define optimal application deployment solutions. You will engage with Customer Units and directly interact with customers to present application deployment architecture and networking strategies, understand customer needs, and leverage current application support capabilities to develop tailored solutions that address those needs effectively.
Define and implement best practices for application connectivity and networking in Kubernetes, including service discovery, ingress/egress management, and network policies.Architect and design cloud infrastructure-agnostic deployment and networking solutions that enable applications to be easily maintained and portable across multiple container environments, including Hybrid Cloud Platforms (HCPs).Work with infrastructure and DevOps teams to optimize Kubernetes cluster configurations to support application requirements.Lead collaboration with the IMS system and technology teams to define and optimize application deployment and networking solutions.Engage with Customer Units and directly interact with customers to present application deployment architectures and networking strategies, understand their needs, and have ability to propose solutions leveraging current application support capabilities.Ensure security best practices are embedded in the deployment architecture, especially around container networking and access controls.
The skills you bring:
Proven experience as a Software Architect or similar role with a strong focus on Kubernetes container orchestration and deployment architecture.Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, container networking, service mesh concepts, and cloud infrastructure-agnostic design principles. Expertise in application deployment lifecycle management, including GitOps. In-depth knowledge of container networking, service discovery, ingress/egress management, and network policies. Strong collaboration skills with experience working closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, system and technology teams to define and optimize deployment solutions. Experience in engaging with customer units and clients to present technical architectures, gather requirements, and develop tailored deployment and networking solutions.Proficiency with scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Helm. Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes services, with the ability to design portable and cloud-agnostic deployment strategies.Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and guidance on containerized application design patterns, deployment strategies, and security best practices.
