Role Purpose

Responsible for supporting the management and maintenance of VMware-based private cloud infrastructure and Red Hat/Windows virtual machines. This role focuses on assisting with routine operational tasks, ensuring system reliability and security, and contributing to team efforts to support business-critical applications.

Key Accountabilities Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of VMware-based private cloud infrastructure to support high availability and performance under senior team guidance.Support the administration and basic troubleshooting of Red Hat and Windows virtual machines (VMs) to ensure operational stability for business applications.Follow established best practices in cloud architecture and virtualization to contribute to operational efficiency and system reliability.Collaborate with team members to implement private cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals as directed by senior staff.Escalate complex issues related to private cloud infrastructure and VM administration to senior team members while assisting in resolution as needed.Help maintain compliance with security standards and governance policies by following established protocols for disaster recovery and business continuityCore Competencies & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).0-2 years of experience in IT infrastructure, preferred in VMware, infrastructure and administration of Red Hat and Windows VMs.Expertise in VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX for designing and managing private cloud environments.Demonstrated experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server administration, including configuration, security hardening, and scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).Basic Knowledge of VMware: Familiarity with VMware vSphere and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) concepts, with a willingness to learn deployment and management tasks under supervision.Foundational Red Hat and Windows Administration: Basic understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server environments, including configuration, patching, and simple scripting tasks.Introduction to Virtualization and Automation: Awareness of virtual machine lifecycle management and exposure to automation tools (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell) for operational support.Security and Compliance Basics: Basic understanding of private cloud security principles, including following established protocols for identity management and system hardening.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address straightforward technical issues with guidance, contributing to minimal downtime and system stability.Team Collaboration and Communication: Good interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues, including learning from senior team members.Adaptability and Learning Mindset: Eagerness to adapt to new technologies and business needs, with a proactive approach to developing technical skills.Not a perfect fit?
