What you'll do Our Internal Developer Platform team is dedicated to creating and maintaining a world-class development environment that empowers our engineers to deliver high-quality software efficiently. We value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our Internal Developer Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our platform infrastructure while ensuring optimal developer experience for our internal teams. The day-to-day Design, develop, and maintain platform infrastructure components, services, and APIs Implement new features and enhancements based on project roadmap and team requirements Provide technical support and guidance to internal development teams Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, UI/UX, and platform leadership Monitor platform performance and reliability through appropriate tooling and metrics Ensure platform compliance with security standards and industry best practices Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform updates and features Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards What you'll need Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 6 to 10 years experience in software development/Cloud Infra engineering Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including: Container orchestration and management Service mesh implementation Resource optimization and scaling Troubleshooting and debugging Experience with cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture Proficiency in infrastructure as code and configuration management Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability solutions Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams What will help you on the job Experience with Cilium and eBPF Knowledge of BBR (TCP congestion control) Golang programming expertise Experience with service mesh technologies (Cilium Service Mesh) Contributions to open-source projects Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements Experience with API gateway implementation and management History of building developer self-service capabilities EEO Statement Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
