**Introduction** IBM Cloud Code Engine is the latest innovation coming from IBM's Public Cloud. It is developed with the goal of helping customers to create modern, source-centric, containerized, and serverless applications and jobs that run on Kubernetes clusters without any worries about the infrastructure hassle. The platform is designed to address the needs of developers who just want their code to run. Code Engine abstracts the operational burden of building, deploying, and managing workloads on Kubernetes so that developers can focus on what matters most to them: the source code. As a cloud native developer on IBM Cloud, you'll be at the heart of implementing the next wave of IBM Cloud Serverless capabilities. **Your role and responsibilities** In the role as Cloud Front-End software engineer, you will - Work on every facet of the IBM Code Engine Cloud service to ensure a reliable quality product in production: from the earliest stage of product architecture, design and development to deployment, troubleshooting, and performance analysis - Implement production ready features and experiences for IBM Cloud Platform focusing on serverless technologies - Collaborate closely with UX designers and content design to ensure the best possible user experience for our customers - Work in an Agile environment, developing software components in a continuous delivery fashion. - Embrace and promote agile development best practices like pair programming. - Operate the Cloud service you develop in collaboration with internal and external clients (DevOps). - Participate in periodic on-call rotation in a 7X24 environment. The local team works within a worldwide development team. Strong communication and teaming skills are mandatory. Working with customers on their requirements, feedback or issues is important for our product. Experience or a desire to work with customers is therefore a plus. **Required technical and professional expertise** '- Software Development architecture & design & implementation (frontend and/or backend) - Node.js, TypeScript, React development - Agile development methods Experience in building distributed cloour services with one or more of the following: IBM Cloud, AWS, Azur, CI/CD, Docker, Container orchestration, DevOps, etc. - Understanding of micro-service architecture and modern cloud programming practices Passionate about constant, continuous learning and applying new technologies - Strong verbal and written communication skills (fluent English) **Preferred technical and professional experience** · Infrastructure-as-a-Service: Linux Containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift - Serverless: IBM Code Engine - intensive collaboration across teams and locations - Operating components on cloud and Linux - Behaviour driven development (BDD) IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
