Who will you be working with?
You will be part of a dynamic team that supports customer-focused applications hosted on AWS Cloud. You will collaborate with application teams from CHAP and IoT VPCs, including teams from DI and AppX, as well as cloud architects and the Enterprise Cloud team.
As a Cloud Engineer, your role will involve:
Assisting application teams in deploying and managing customer-focused applications on AWS, ensuring adherence to Wabtec's standard guardrails and best practices.Collaborating with cloud architects to design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.Supporting the migration of legacy applications to AWS, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Working with the Enterprise Cloud team to enforce compliance, security, and cost management strategies.Automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.Troubleshooting and optimizing cloud environments to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.Assisting in the deployment of new applications and services, including containerized solutions using Kubernetes and microservices architectures.Monitoring and managing cloud costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and implementing cost-cutting measures.What do we want to know about you?
We are looking for professionals with:Strong foundational knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture, with a focus on customer-facing applications.Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as TerraformExperience with containerization and orchestration technologies like KubernetesFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline application deployment and updates.Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Required Qualifications
At least 3 years of experience working with AWS cloud environments.Hands-on experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools for automating cloud infrastructure.Experience working with application teams to deploy and manage cloud-based solutions.Preferred Qualifications
AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, or AWS Developer. Experience working in CHAP and IoT VPCs or similar environments.Familiarity with Kafka, ActiveMQ, or other message-oriented middleware technologies.Knowledge of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems or railway-related applications.Experience with cost management and optimization in cloud environments.What will your typical day look like?
Collaborating with application teams to deploy and manage customer-focused applications on AWS.Automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform Troubleshooting and optimizing cloud environments to ensure high performance and cost efficiency.Working with the Enterprise Cloud team to enforce compliance and security standards.Participating in cost optimization initiatives and identifying opportunities for savings.Regularly updating stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and opportunities in the cloud domain.What about the physical demands of the job?

$89,100.00-$126,900.00The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
