Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive. **Your role and responsibilities** The IBM Cloud Economics & Portfolio Transformation team drives change & delivers actionable results in the form of spend optimization, maximize efficiency by inventory management & improving our cash position. The key performance indicator (KPI) for the Cloud Economics - Program Director Business Analyst role is the achievement of vended spend savings, which is closely monitored under both: * OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) * Project Lesseps, IBM’s company-wide initiative focused on reducing third-party vended spend Additional KPIs related to Scorecarding/OKRs, Effective Technology Asset Utilization and Project Optima will be identified between the selected candidate and their direct Manager. Primary responsibilities for this role include the following: * Identifying opportunities in our cloud technology (network/telecom, hardware and software) for cost savings * Optimizing our production, staging and spare-parts inventory, * Enhancing cloud technology asset utilization, and streamlining internal IBM Cloud processes, such as the Transaction Review Board (TRB). The focus of these efforts is primarily on technology provider third-party vended spend, ensuring that the company’s cloud-related request for expenditures that are put-forward are both efficient and aligned with overall Cloud strategies. * Scorecard development and maintenance for all key OKRs of the Cloud business * Cloud Technology benchmarking for areas such as effective network and asset utilization. * Technology utilization to optimize Cost Management - Saves Management Program. * Partnering closely with broader Infrastructure organization, Finance and Procurement on Cost Transparency and Benchmarking - Visibility into the usage and cost of Cloud Infrastructure services and products that incentivize effective utilization. * Partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering and Finance on Business Case Analysis and Decision Support. * Technology Asset Business Value Realization - Support Strategic Reinvestment decisions, Automation, and Legacy Asset decommissions to drive lower unit costs/business value. * Effective Technology and Human resource utilization - Productive Capacity. * Metrics and Balance Scorecard to drive IBM Cloud Strategic Targets. * Cloud Technology Vendor Deal Economic Analysis and Negotiation to optimize contracts and non-personnel expense (Unit Cost improvement). * Technology Asset Benchmarking Improvement opportunities. * Strategic Initiative Planning. **Required technical and professional expertise** * A minimum of 15+ years of technology experience in similar functions. * Proven background and success in Technology vendor contract negotiations strategies. * Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Accounting or Finance required. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Masters Degree preferred.
