We’re seeking a Cloud Database Engineer with deep experience in engineering and integrating platforms on public cloud environments—particularly Azure. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in cloud database migrations, DevOps automation, and collaborating with agile development teams.

We need a cloud advocate who understands infrastructure, security, development, and modern engineering practices, and is always looking for innovative ways to build and improve systems.

What You’ll Do

Design and build secure, scalable, and resilient cloud database platforms on Azure. Integrate cloud database services following best practices: security, performance, automation, and observability. Collaborate with InfoSec to strengthen the Azure security posture. Lead proof of concepts for new database tools and services. Support developers through their cloud journey—identify and build needed services. Optimize database performance (e.g., indexing, query tuning). Drive platform automation and improvements for reliability and developer experience. Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and integrate with CI/CD pipelines. Solve complex engineering challenges in a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong Python development, with expertise in FastAPI. Experience with Azure Function Apps, Azure Storage API, and related Azure services. Skilled in PowerShell scripting, T-SQL, and MS SQL Server. Hands-on experience with Azure UAMI, Managed Identity, Key Vault, Azure Blob/Storage Accounts. Familiar with DevOps tools: Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD. Ability to automate database deployment and integrations. Strong understanding of Azure Cloud architecture (IaaS & PaaS). Experience designing secure APIs and implementing cloud-based database solutions. Good understanding of cloud security, data protection, and automation strategies. Excellent communication and self-management skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation. Familiarity with other databases: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB. Azure databases: Cosmos DB, MySQL Flexible, PostgreSQL Flexible. Experience with AWS RDS, Kubernetes, and cloud transformation projects. Understanding of Power BI and Azure Power Platform. Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
