Job Overview:

The Trauma Response Assessment and Coordination team is looking for a Bachelor's degree Clinician-Emergency Room Domestic Violence Liaison (ERDVL) who specializes in domestic violence to join our growing team!

The Clinician-ERDVL will provide direct safety planning, case management, support services and advocacy for victims of crime who present to the emergency room, referred by the community, or in the office. The position is community-based and office-based. Travel will be required to provide support to patients in need.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related mental health discipline Reliable transportationDriver's license in good standing

Trauma-informed and knowledgeable about resources for victims

Commitment to working with clients impacted by violence with compassion and empathy for underserved populations

Knowledge and understanding of urban issues, hospital procedures, community resources

Ability to be a self-starter, take initiative and work independently, when necessary

Strong time and task-management skills

Computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products

Preferred:

Certification in Domestic ViolenceBilingual in English and Spanish2 years of experience in domestic violence services, or equivalent1-2 years providing case management and/or clinical services in a fast-paced environmentClinical experience working with behavioral health population, crisis intervention, and case management in a hospital setting

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift working, Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm; 1 shift a week 7am-3pm Tuesday or ThursdayFT

Essential Functions:

Provide intensive case-management, advocacy, and support to victims of violence for medical mental health treatment, social service supports, financial assistance, victim services, linkage to criminal/civil legal advocacy, and transportation servicesFollowing up on these services and referrals is a primary responsibility of this positionAssist with DV safety planning for victim and provide direct advocacy, community networking and referralSafety planning will include victim families if safe and appropriateHelp identify and address gaps and barriers that trauma victims face following emergency room visits and provide direct assistance in linking victims to overcome barriersMaintain close and regular follow-up contact with clients through office appointments, home/community visits, and telephone contactAssess Emergency Department patients for TRAC eligibility engage potential client s bedside, in the community, in the office, and telephonically for full evaluation of needs and safety planningProvides hands-on support, as needed, to provide support to patient which can include meeting patients in the communityConduct TRAC intake interviews assessments, create and manage service plans, update as neededProvide trauma and domestic violence training to Trinitas team around safety, confidentiality, and particular needs of domestic violence victimsModel best practices in working with families in domestic violence situationsModel collaboration and cross systems advocacy to strengthen community partnerships and enable a coordinated community-teamed response for victims of crime who utilize emergency room servicesMaintains contact with community agencies to coordinate access to and delivery of servicesCompletes necessary reporting requirements for all program areas by assisting in reporting of statistics and in preparation of reportsVets community agencies to build community supports related to client's needsMaintain compliance with all organizational policies and proceduresAttends staff meetings, workshops, trainings, and supervisionAttends community events as neededOther responsibilities as assigned
