Job Description:The Clinical Data Scientist is responsible for developing and implementing analytics driven solutions to automate clinical data flow. Accountable for programming clinical data reports and dashboards enabling data review that allows for seamless downstream consumption, standardization and integration of data. This requires an in depth understanding of statistical programming, data flow, and data standards. The Clinical Data Scientist collaborates with the Clinical Data Strategist, Clinical Data Lead, Clinical Data Management Associate, Clinical Data Associate and other partners to deliver standardized reports, dashboards and innovative analytic solutions for use in global clinical trials.

Responsibilities:Portfolio DeliveryProgram and implement data review solutions, dashboarding and analytics for a trial or set of trials within therapeutic areaEnsure data reporting and analytics are delivered accurately, efficiently and in alignment with study objectivesProvide insights into study level deliverables (i.e. Data Management Plan, Project Plan, database, and observed datasets)Support submission, inspection and regulatory response activitiesLead large-scale cross Business Unit/Therapeutic Area projects or programs with high complexityDevelops and tests new ideas and/or applies creative solutions that surface business insightsIndependently identifies key scientific questions/issues and develops solutions to advance the portfolioProgram and test automation solutions for a trial or set of trials within a program using Lilly process and toolsProject ManagementIncrease speed, accuracy, and consistency in the development of reporting and analytic capabilitiesPartner with Clinical Data Management Associate and Data Strategist to deliver data reporting and analytics per business needAlign with and influence data standard decisions and strategies for a study and/or programBuild therapeutic knowledge and a deep and broad understanding of the technology to develop data reports and analytic solutionsEffectively apply knowledge of applicable internal, external and regulatory requirements/expectations (MQA, CSQ, MHRA, FDA, ICH, GCP, PhRMA, Privacy knowledge, etc.) to regular workIntegrates multi-functional and/or external information and applies technical knowledge to data-driven decision makingEnterprise LeadershipContinually seek and implement means of improving processes to optimize data reporting/analytics and decrease work effortRepresent Data and Analytics processes in multi-functional initiativesActively engage in shared learning across Data and Analytics organizationStrive to Increase re-usability of reports and analyticsDrive automation and seamless data delivery with real time data analyticsAnticipate and resolve key technical, operational or business problems that impact the Data and Analytics organizationInteracts with regulators, business partners and external collaborators on business issuesBring end to end approach towards managing risk to minimize impact on deliveryBuilds a diverse multi-functional and internal/external network to understand how different domains and approaches contribute to research and developmentFocuses on defining analytic solutions to answer scientific questions, goals, critical success factor and timelines in support of advancing the portfolioBasic Requirements:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Health, Information or Data SciencesHands-on programming experience (SAS, Python or R)Additional Preferences:Three or more years of data analytics experience in clinical, pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO setting highly preferred.Experienced working with cloud based technologiesExperienced with AI/ML toolsTechnical knowledge to develop requirements and/or study project resultsKnowledge and experience with statistical techniquesProven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environmentExcellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated leadershipDemonstrated teamwork, collaboration and high learning agilityPassionate about improving technological solutions using new technologiesAdditional Information:Domestic and International travel may be requiredLilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,000 - $162,800Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
