Clinical Support Nurse
Job Summary Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Full time - 36 hours but paid for 40 as part of NH ANTS program Department: Center for Professional Practice and Development Location: Presbyterian Medical Center - Charlotte, NC; Presbyterian is our 661 bed level 2 trauma center centrally located just outside of uptown Charlotte. As a Clinical Support Nurse at Novant Health’s Presbyterian Medical Center you’ll be trusted to support newer nurses in clinical decision making utilizing your knowlege and awareness of Novant policies and procedures. From onsite to virtual support, you will help drive safe, compassionate care where it matters most. This role is ideal for experienced RNs looking to grow their practice in clinical education and mentor new nursing staff members. Responsibilities Provides in-person and virtual support to clinical nurses in the acute care setting during off-shifts and weekends by answering just-in-time requests for clinical information Rounds on newly hired nursing team members Identifies and deploys resources as needed Provides in-services and skills training Supports new equipment and workflow initiatives Qualifications Education: BSN required. MSN preferred. Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical practice, required. Licensure/Certification: Current RN license in appropriate state, required. Nursing professional certification in an acute nursing specialty, required. Additional Skills (required): Current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; effective classroom presentation style; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; knowledge of research and EBP methodologies and analyses; ability to write effectively.
