Job Title: Clinical Supervisor – Residential Services Department: Residential Services Position Summary: The Clinical Supervisor of Residential Services is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical care and support to youth and families in Gateway-Longview's Residential and Respite programs. This position oversees the clinical work of residential and respite social workers, provides supervision and training, ensures compliance with all regulatory standards, and supports coordination of care across multidisciplinary teams. The Clinical Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting staff development, maintaining clinical excellence, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the department. Department Gateway Longview’s Residential Treatment Services is a therapeutic intervention for youth ages 12-18 and supports them in developing the skills needed to successfully live with their families or in the community. Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities: + Provide high quality clinical supervision and group supervision to residential and respite social workers and additional support as needed with special cases requiring significant oversight. Provide support as the social worker interprets family dynamics and treatment needs to the treatment team, ensuring coordination of care. + Supervise completion of thorough needs assessments, comprehensive assessments, and treatment plans per state and county requirements. + In collaboration with the Sr. Clinical Director, monitor staff productivity and utilization of internal and external available services and provide feedback to staff. + In collaboration with the Sr. Clinical Director, monitor policies and procedures for compliance and quality standards; identify potential problems and generate innovate and creative solutions. Maintain compliance with all licensing requirements of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and Article 29i along with the Council of Accreditation. + Complete monthly chart audits in all systems. + Provide effective on-going communication through regular participation in and scheduling of regularly scheduled meetings for all cases and on-going consultation with other team members. + Ensure full utilization of the department by assuming supervision of the intake worker for the Residential program only. This includes analysis, evaluation, and implementation of necessary changes to meet client needs determined to be reasonable expectations of Gateway-Longview programs. + Responsible for hiring, training, and retention of all clinical program staff and intake position. + Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Must have excellent communication and customer service skills + Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented + Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player + Must have a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information + Model and display high ethical standards + Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts + Ability to work flexible evenings weekly + An understanding of the foster care and juvenile justice system is preferred + Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. – moved this here from qualifications + Ability to learn and utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention verbal and physical de-escalation techniques Qualifications + Must hold a current professional license as a mental health provider or social worker (LMHC, LMHC-D, LMSW, LCSW) and must meet the qualifications required to serve in a clinical supervisor role which typically includes licensure as an LMHC-D or LCSW, or meeting applicable vested/preapproved criteria per NYS Office of the Professional (e.g. LMHC, LCSW). + 3 years’ experience and demonstrated competence and knowledge of clinical issues of children in the Juvenile Justice system and their families, and demonstrated competence in the foster care system + At least 1 year in a supervisory capacity in a related field. + Valid New York State driver’s license and adequate auto insurance We want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
