Clinical Research Nurse-Contract
Duties
Perform venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs, electrocardiograms, IV infusions, and other protocol-required procedures.Attend investigator meetings and site initiation visits to obtain training on drug preparation and administration.Monitor for complications with study drug administration, focusing on injections or intravenous infusions.Maintain accurate dispensing logs, including information such as lot number and drug vs. placebo.Document laboratory data and adverse reactions, promptly notifying investigators and sponsors of unexpected events.Assist other staff members based on research organization needs and priorities.Actively recruit suitable patient participants for clinical trials, dedicating time each week for recruitment efforts.Complete training on Clinical Trial Management System and maintain skills for database updates and participant reimbursement.Communicate recruitment status and clinical needs to investigators and Site Manager.Build relationships with monitors from sponsoring companies through various communication methods.Proactively promote the site with monitors and in-house contacts for future trials.Prepare study documentation for audits and assist auditors during audits.Order clinical supplies and maintain protocol-specific rescue drugs, monitoring storage temperatures for safety.Obtain and maintain knowledge of temperature monitoring devices and procedures for lab specimens and investigational products.Maintain certification for packaging and shipping specimens on dry ice and update knowledge of lab procedures.Act as OSHA Representative, maintaining employee immunization records and administering vaccines to staff.Perform equipment calibration and maintain equipment calibration records.Support training and additional development of clinical skills for site staff as needed.Travel to other sites within the network as required to support workload increases or projects.Essential Skills
MUST hold an active Illinois RN license1+ year of prior CRC/CRN/Research experience OR 2+ years of nursing experience if no prior researchExperience in chart review, patient recruitment, and pre-screening patientsProficiency in electronic data capture (EDC) and electronic medical records (EMR)Knowledge of clinical research and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)Phlebotomy and IV insertion experiencePay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
