TheDepartmentof Anesthesiology,Perioperative,andPainMedicine atStanford is recruitingafull-time Clinical Research CoordinatorAssociate(CRCA) – Fixed-term 12 months who willbecomeanintegralpartof ahighlydynamicandmulti-disciplinaryteamperforming cutting-edge clinical researchandinterfacingwith bigdata.Thisexcellent opportunityoffers the chance to become a key playerof ateamlookingto advancethepracticeof perioperative medicine.The CRCAwillinteractwithabroadrange of individualsincludinganesthesiologists,surgeons,nursepractitioners,andsocialworkers.
The CRCA will coordinate manyaspects of studies testinginnovative interventions andnovel platforms fordatacollection. ThepositionalsoincludesregularinteractionwiththeStanfordResearchITandBiomedicalinformaticsdepartments. TheCRCAwillbeprimarilyresponsibleforrecruitment, screening, andenrollmentof participations, datacollectionanddata entry,patientfollow-upandadministrativetasks.Mustbeself-motivated,independent,andabletoworkinafast-paced environment.TheprimaryworklocationisintheSNAPLLabtoenrollandfollowpatients.Theapplicantmusthavestrong interpersonalskillsandbecomfortableworkingdirectlywithpatientsandliaisingwithhospitalstaff.Mustalsobeableto effectivelyinterfacewithparticipantsoverthephone.Thepositionrequiresgivinginstructionsto patientsduringabusyand stressful time. Applicantmustbeabletocommunicateextremelywell,bepersonable,andabletoexplaincomplexprocedures. Applicantmustalsobeorganizedanddetail-oriented,andabletoworkindependentlywithminimalsupervision.Knowledge of GoodClinicalPracticesandclinicaltrialsmethodology is aplus.

Dutiesinclude:
Serveas primarycontactwithresearchparticipants, sponsors, andregulatoryagencies. Coordinatestudiesfrom start-upthroughclose-out.
Determine eligibilityofandgatherconsentfromstudyparticipants according to protocol. Assist in developing recruitmentstrategies.
Collectand manage patientand laboratory datafor clinical research projects. Manage research project databases, develop flowsheets andotherstudyrelateddocuments, andcomplete studydocuments/casereport forms.
Ensure compliance withresearch protocols,andreviewandauditcase reportforms forcompletionand accuracywithsourcedocuments. Prepareregulatorysubmissions, andensure InstitutionalReviewBoard renewalsarecomplete.
Assemble studykits forstudyvisits, monitorschedulingofprocedures andcharges, coordinate documents, and attendmonitoringmeetingswithsponsors,actingasprimarycontact.
Monitorexpenditures andadherenceto studybudgets andresolve billingissues incollaborationwithfinance and/ormanagementstaff.
Interactwiththeprincipalinvestigatorregularly,ensuringpatientsafetyandadherencetoproperstudyconduct.
Ensure essential documentationandrecording ofpatient andresearch datainappropriate files perinstitutional andregulatoryrequirements.
Participateinmonitorvisitsandregulatoryaudits.

The expected pay range for this position is $34.56 to $40.30 per hour.
