Summary About the Position: The position is located at the following: Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio MacDill Air Force Base, Florida Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Responsibilities Apply biopsychosocial evaluations/behavioral health interventions in primary care setting to deliver evidence-based biopsychosocial assessment, treatment, and management of behavioral health/ health conditions for Military Health System beneficiaries Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches. Deliver interventions for various medical conditions with a psychological impact and for various mental health conditions. Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, including team-based care recommendations. Consult with providers on psychological treatment options to optimize health outcomes. Implement psychoeducational classes targeting high-frequency primary care diagnoses. Develop group interventions for behavioral medical conditions (diabetes, weight management, chronic pain) and mental health concerns. Create treatment processes and orientation procedures while evaluating program effectiveness through statistical data review. Document information in electronic health records during patient encounters. Maintain appropriate documentation according to DoD, DHA, and federal regulations. Record treatment goals, intervention plans, risk assessments, and consultation outcomes while adhering to hospital standard operating procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Behavioral Health Consultant): Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. AND Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your license with your application package) Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
