Duties Description South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility is recruiting a Physician to serve as a Clinical Physician 3 and provide medical care to individuals with mental illness. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As a Clinical Physician 3 at South Beach Psychiatric Center, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Your duties will include:• Providing clinical consultation for individuals with complex medical diagnoses.• Reviewing admission referral packets for medical clearance.• Providing clinical supervision to lower-level physicians and other medical providers.• Consulting with other licensed physicians and healthcare providers on diagnoses and treatment plans.• Communicating with local hospitals when SBPC patients are in their care.• Participating in discharge planning.• Additional administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Clinical Physician 3 if they have• NYS License and current registration to practice medicine; and• 4 years of post-licensure medical experience, one year of which must have been at a supervisory levelORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIn accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Clinical Physician 3 at South Beach Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.The promotion field for the Clinical Physician 3 position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Clinical Physician 2.
