JOB SUMMARY:
Manage the Fred Hutch Pharmacy Services at Fred Hutch.Provides oversight of the operations at the inpatient hospital and direct supervision of pharmacy services at the Fred Hutch ambulatory clinic pharmaciesSubstantial responsibility for formulating institutional policy at the department level and assists in the oversight of annual drug expenditures.The Pharmacy Operations Manager will also: develop, implement, and evaluate pharmacy services; resolve day-to-day practice issues at the inpatient hospital and Fred Hutch ambulatory pharmacies; and collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient medication processes. Oversee day-to-day operations in the Fred Hutch Pharmacy ServicesAssist in planning, developing, organizing and evaluating Fred Hutch Pharmacy ServicesAssist in maintaining appropriate computer operations and other automation systems for the pharmacyEnsure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations including USP 797, USP 800, The Joint Commission, and National Patient Safety GoalsMaintain security systems for the pharmacy's physical plant and computer softwareEnsure that policies and procedures are updated and followed in coordination with the Director of PharmacyOversee activities related to drug use, control, storage, inventory, and billingParticipate in quality assurance programs.Maintain effective communication with other persons on the administrative staff with other SLU clinic departmentsProvide management reports as required by the DirectorEnsure proper control of controlled substances and maintain proper records and inventoriesServe as a member of committees as assignedAssume other responsibilities in the management of the pharmacy department as delegated by the Director of PharmacyFinancial:

Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Interns as applicable to the Fred Hutch pharmacyAssist with personnel performance reviews and the development and retention of competent personnel in coordination with the Director of PharmacyEnsure pharmacy staff development, new employee orientation, and training in coordination with the Director of PharmacyEnsure appropriate pharmacy staffingEnsure accuracy of timesheets and leave records, in coordination with Lead PharmacistsEducational:
Coordinate the experience of IPPE and APPE School of Pharmacy graduate students in outpatient pharmacy practice with the Clinical Pharmacy ManagerProvide lectures for the School of Pharmacy in its graduate and continuing education programsCoordinate externship experiences for pharmacy technician students following contract agreements
Research:
Participate in collaborative research with the Schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, and Public HealthEnsure maintenance of records for dispensing of investigational drugs and other drug-related studies
Other Duties:
Participate in professional pharmacy organizationsPromote an image of service and goodwill to the patients, public, and hospital staffPerform other related tasks as required QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited School of PharmacyEligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Washington4-5 years of Pharmacist experienceDemonstrated leadership abilities.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate degree in Pharmacy and an ASHP-accredited residency are preferred; may substitute with 3-5 years of experiencePre Employment Drug Screening:

The annual base salary range for this position is from $169,520.00 to $282,505.60 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
