Position OverviewThe Clinical Nurse - Wound Ostomy provides leadership and coordination for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. This role specializes in wound, ostomy, and continence management and serves as a consultant to the healthcare team in these areas. You will lead patient care, develop care plans, and support staff and colleagues with expertise in wound and ostomy management.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direction, coordination, and expert care for patients with complex wound, ostomy, and continence needs. Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to the care team. Develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices and patient needs. Educate patients and families on wound, ostomy, and continence management. Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Associates of Nursing (ASN) required. Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licensure: Current Indiana RN license or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Certification in Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (CWOCN) required within 1 year of eligibility. Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per patient care policies. Experience: Clinical expertise in wound, ostomy, or continence care preferred. Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
