SUMMARY:
As a Clinical Nurse Leader, your strong ability to lead and clinical expertise serve as valuable resources for staff mentoring and delivery of quality patient care.

The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is a vital member of the 5400 team, serving as a clinical expert, care coordinator, and unit-based leader who drives high-quality, evidence-based patient care. This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about both bedside care and continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, team collaboration, and patient safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Management. Provide leadership and direction for both nursing and non-nursing staff, serving as a clinical and operational resource for nurses, physicians, and providers. Delegate responsibilities appropriately, assess staff competencies, monitor assignments, and offer feedback and documentation to support staff development and safe patient care.Patient Care. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and apply sound clinical judgment to address priority needs. Develop, document, and communicate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Ensure patients receive clear, personalized education tailored to their needs and abilities.General Management. Conduct daily leadership rounding and ensure team members are consistently rounding on all patients. Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to monitor care quality and patient outcomes, and assist in strategic planning, including staffing models, recruitment, and budgeting initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse license in New York State.
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification in area of specialty by a National Accrediting Organization preferred.1 - 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse preferred; demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors preferred. Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
