Job Title: Clinical Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown
Schedule/Shift: Full-Time / 36 hours weekly / Rotating Shift

Unit Description:

This 30-bed unit provides care to patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, as well as to medical patients that require cardiac telemetry monitoring.  4 South Acute/Cardiac is staffed by registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, and monitor technicians.  Staff receive support from clinical educators and advanced practice nurses.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.

What you will need

Required:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN within a specific time frame)Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)

Preferred:

BSN or MSN preferred  At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care settingCurrent knowledge of nursing skills and practiceComputer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processingAbility to retrieve and interpret dataEffectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend EnglishEffective eye and hand coordinationAbility to analyze and synthesize information within a short period of timeEffective problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task, organize and prioritizeAbility to work well with individuals and groups


​Pay Range-   $37.88-$54.19

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
