Clinical Nurse, Outpatient - Thoracic Radiation Oncology

The Clinical Nurse manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting the clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum. This role significantly impacts the quality of care, patient outcomes, and resource utilization through collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team. *Ideal Candidate* The ideal candidate will have: * A minimum of *3 years of nursing experience* * *Oncology experience* * *Ambulatory care experience* (preferred) * Strong *critical thinking* and clinical judgment skills * A patient-centered approach and excellent communication skills *Key Responsibilities* * Provide patient education prior to radiation treatment, including reinforcement throughout the treatment process and post-treatment guidance * Secure and review patient histories and medication information relevant to thoracic oncology care * Support physicians during physical exams and clinical assessments * Coordinate complex care plans involving multiple departments and providers * Manage and triage acute treatment-related toxicities * Administer medications and monitor patient responses * Serve as a key liaison for patients and families navigating cancer care *Education Required: *Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. *Preferred:* One year of registered nurse (RN) work experience. *Certificate/Licensure Required*: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200).
