Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services. *Job Summary* The Department of Neuropsychology at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital is pleased to announce a position opening for a full-time clinical neuropsychologist to work within the Ayer Neuroscience Institute Epilepsy Center (Harford and New Britain, CT). The Epilepsy Center provides comprehensive care by a dedicated team and is accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. This role affords the opportunity to work in Hartford, CT three days per week and approximately 20 minutes away in New Britain, CT two days per week in an effort to improve patient access. The clinical neuropsychologist will join our growing team of dedicated and skilled neuropsychologists. This position is a collaboration between the Institute of Living and Hartford HealthCare’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute and reflects our commitment to embedding behavioral health services in medical settings throughout the system. The neuropsychologist is an essential member of the comprehensive care team and performs outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and consultations for patients with seizure disorders. The neuropsychologist will also be involved in more complex aspects of care, including Wada tests, functional testing and cortical mapping, and awake craniotomies. As such, opportunities to partner with neuro-oncology and neurosurgery are available. Additionally, there may be opportunities to work with our radiology team in interpreting fMRI scans. The neuropsychologist is adept at gathering relevant historical information, analyzing, integrating and interpreting data and findings, completing timely, detailed and accurate documentation, and providing comprehensive feedback to the team during surgery conference meetings. Program Summary The Department of Neuropsychology enjoys active involvement in the hospital’s rich history of training and provision of exceptional care. Departmental neuropsychologists participate in clinical care, research, training, and multidisciplinary collaboration at multiple sites within Hartford HealthCare, including the Chase Family Movement Disorders Center, Memory Care Center, Institute of Living (Inpatient Psychiatry and General Neuropsychology Outpatient Clinic), and Hartford Hospital (medical inpatient and inpatient rehabilitation). Opportunities to participate in teaching activities and supervision of students at all levels of training exist. The Institute of Living has a deep commitment to research and education, as well as clinical care, and there are many opportunities to get involved in hospital-wide activities and initiatives. The Institute of Living also has a strong commitment to multi-disciplinary collaboration and continuing education, including weekly Psychiatry Grand Rounds, Neurology Grand Rounds, and numerous other educational opportunities, including departmental seminars for staff neuropsychologists and trainees. *Job Responsibilities* * Provision of comprehensive clinical neuropsychological assessment services, including the gathering of relevant historical information, administration of appropriate testing measures, analysis, integration, interpretation of data, and completion of timely, detailed, and accurate documentation. * The Institute of Living has a deep commitment to research and education, as well as clinical care, and there are many opportunities to get involved in hospital-wide activities and initiatives. * The neuropsychologist is an essential member of the comprehensive care team and performs outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and consultations for patients with seizure disorders. * Participation in complex aspects of care, including Wada tests, functional testing and cortical mapping, awake craniotomy testing. * Collaboration with radiology for fMRI interpretation and oversight. * Participation in Epilepsy Surgery Conference. * Participation in neuropsychology departmental staff meetings. * Participation in teaching activities (i.e., seminars) and, if desired, supervision of students at all levels of training. * Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD.) or Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited institution * Completion of a two-year clinical neuropsychology fellowship that conforms to the Houston Conference Guidelines and/or be eligible for ABPP in clinical neuropsychology * Specialized training in epilepsy/seizure disorders * fMRI interpretation training is preferred, but not required * Licensed to practice psychology in the state of Connecticut * Strong written communication skills * Interest in graduate and post-graduate education is a plus * Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team We take great care of careers.
