Clinical Lead – Surgery

Location: SAGE Redwood City, CA
Compensation: $30 – $48 hourly (plus $5.50 differential for any hours worked between 6pm and 6am)

About the Role

SAGE Redwood City is seeking a Clinical Lead – Surgery to guide and support our surgical department. This role is ideal for a skilled  Veterinary Technician who is passionate about patient care and leadership. You’ll manage a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants, mentor colleagues, and help shape a collaborative, efficient, and compassionate workplace.

Leading by example with high-quality patient care.Coaching and developing team members.Communicating clearly with colleagues and clients.Staying calm, adaptable, and solutions-focused in a busy hospital environment.ResponsibilitiesManage and mentor a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants.Oversee scheduling, payroll, and staffing for the department.Support and assess staff training, development, and performance.Promote safety, client satisfaction, and adherence to best practices.Provide strong clinical expertise and hands-on support in surgery.QualificationsHigh school diploma required.Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine.CA RVT license preferred, but not required.Ability to perform accurate medical calculations (drug doses, CRIs, invoices, etc.).Must hold or obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived if you have a valid CA-RVT license).
