Summary:

We’re seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Generalist to join a dynamic urgent care lab in Lancaster, CA. This role involves performing a broad range of diagnostic tests across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced clinical setting. Ideal for adaptable professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and are comfortable covering multiple benches.

Key Responsibilities:Perform testing in Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunohematology, Serology, and ParasitologyOperate and maintain lab instruments and equipmentConduct quality control procedures and ensure regulatory complianceAnalyze and interpret test results with accuracy and timelinessCollaborate with healthcare teams to support patient careAssist in training and onboarding of new staff and studentsFlexibly cover multiple lab areas as neededSerology-Specific Duties:Conduct infectious disease testing (HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, COVID-19)Run autoimmune panels and titer testingUtilize ELISA and chemiluminescence platformsInterpret antigen-antibody interactions and troubleshoot discrepanciesSchedule & Structure:Training Period: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8/9 AM–5 PM (2–6 weeks)Coverage Needs: Full-time hours expected due to staff LOAsShifts: 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM, 3x/week or moreEvening & Weekend Coverage: High demand across 7 daysOn-Call: Monthly schedulingOpen to: Full-time and part-time candidatesQualifications:Valid California CLS licenseBachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field1–2 years of experience preferred (acute care hospital setting ideal)New grads considered if highly adaptable and knowledgeableStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyLab Environment:Small urgent care lab supporting ambulatory and outpatient specialtiesModerate volume: 400 specimens/day, 300,000/monthNo tissue specimensFlexibility to cover 2–3 benches as needed

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
