Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in Clinical Laboratory Services. This position plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care across various hospitals

Perform a wide range of laboratory tests in multiple disciplines, including:Hematology: Complete blood counts, coagulation studies, blood bank proceduresChemistry: Electrolytes, enzymes, hormones, drug levelsMicrobiology: Bacterial culture and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testingImmunology: Autoantibody testing, serological markers Urinalysis and Body Fluids: Microscopic examination, chemical analysis Molecular Diagnostics: PCR testing, genetic analysis Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and automated systemsEnsure proper specimen handling, processing, and analysisMaintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performedAdhere to strict quality control procedures and safety protocolsParticipate in departmental quality assurance activities and proficiency testingCollaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel, physicians, and nursesAssist with training and mentoring of new staff membersContribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and
Qualifications
Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required.Required training in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Immunology, and Serology as applicable.B.A./B.S. requiredWindows Operating System.Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is helpful.California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License, California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License, California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License are required and ASCP registry preferredCurrent Los Angeles County fire card is required.For direct patient care AHA BLS certification is required for CLS drawing blood donors only.Overview
