CLINICAL ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT SUPPORT SPEC
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Evening Shift **Description:** Under the general supervision of the Director, Clinical Engineering, and according to department procedures and assignments, performs pre-purchase consultation and planning, installation, corrective and preventive maintenance services, compliance with local, state, federal and JCAHO regulatory requirements and documents. *This is a first shift position: 7am to 3:30pm This position provides pre-purchase consultation and planning services for new biomedical devices and systems. Set-ups, configures, interconnects, calibrates, balances, and verifies operation of specialized medical surgical devices and surgical integration systems prior to surgical procedure. Provides hands-on clinical application operational support during surgical procedures on multiple types of specialized medical surgical equipment including, advanced neurosurgical image guided navigation, neural integrity monitoring, stereotactic planning, advanced robotic and laparoscopic/arthroscopic systems, surgical microscopes, and surgical integration systems. Performs planned maintenance on multiple types of medical surgical equipment, such as electrosurgical units, heart/lung bypass systems, analyzers following manufacturer’s recommendations, standards or code requirements, as well as industry acceptable processes as guidelines. Provides emergency and routine service requests for biomedical devices and systems to assure that equipment functions according to specifications. Provides assistance in maintaining the records of all equipment services performed by the Clinical Engineering Department by documenting the results of all work performed. Monitors work done by outside contractors to assure performance according to contractual commitments and that results are documented. Responsible for ordering parts and supplies (based upon department guidelines) required for service general medical equipment located in the Surgery Department. Performs other duties as assigned or requested by the CE Management Provides on-call service coverage after normal business hours on a rotating basis, as assigned. **III.
