Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring that medical equipment is safe and effective through collaboration with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Also responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing new technologies or procedures.This position is within the Systems Division of MGB Biomedical Engineering.
Qualifications
Essential Functions
Developing, testing, and implementing new technologies in clinical settings.
Troubleshooting problems with equipment or processes to identify their causes and solutions.
Establishing and maintaining standards for operating equipment according to industry guidelines.
Maintaining records of equipment use and condition, as well as identifying problems and making recommendations for repairs or replacement.
Designing, developing, installing, maintaining, and repairing medical equipment such as ventilators, endoscopy equipment, ultrasound machines, and radiation therapy devices.
Provides on-call response to administrative and/or technical problems related to clinical systems.
Occasional after hours and weekend work to perform tasks that cannot be done during normal business hours.
Performs other duties as assigned

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant fields from an accredited university required.
Experience
Biomedical Engineer Experience 0-1 year preferred or Relevant engineering experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and diagrams.
Excellent communication skills to enable building relationships with others and share information effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues with medical equipment.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent team building skills to collaborate with multiple health care providers.
