Job Title: Clinical Educator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Educator to provide comprehensive education to staff on regulatory standards, compliance, current clinical practice issues, and safety standards. This role involves coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating the orientation process for new unit staff, while collaborating with various departments to promote consistency and prevent duplication. The Clinical Educator will also participate in unit-specific and hospital-wide quality improvement activities, maintaining records for tracking staff education and working closely with the Clinical Director and Unit Leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

ResponsibilitiesProvide education on regulatory standards, compliance, clinical practice issues, and safety standards.Coordinate and evaluate the orientation process for new unit staff.Assess unit competencies and ensure staff competence.Collaborate with other departments and nursing areas to promote consistency.Participate in unit-specific and hospital-wide quality improvement activities.Maintain records for tracking staff education.Work closely with the Clinical Director and Unit Leadership to achieve goals.Attend ongoing educational opportunities and provide summary presentations.Participate in the evaluation and interview process of job candidates.Take part in staff performance evaluations and develop individualized educational plans.Encourage staff participation in seminars, meetings, in-services, and shared governance activities.Essential SkillsRegistered Nurse with BLS certification.Cardiovascular experience in shock trauma, ICU, or critical care setting.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster's Degree in Nursing preferred.Minimum of three years as a Registered Nurse in a relevant care setting.Demonstrated experience in nursing staff development or nursing leadership.Knowledge of nursing staff development theory or principles of adult education.Specialty Certification and Professional Organization Membership required.Adherence to credentialing requirements as stated in nursing bylaws.Work Environment

The role is situated within an ICU unit focusing on cardiovascular care, requiring a minimum of three years of experience in this area. The position is full-time, day shift (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, weekends as needed). Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $112320.00/yr.
