Provides functional guidance to department staff, which may include clinical dietitians, diet assistants, diet clerks, food service staff, and other support staff. Ensures the timely delivery of food service and Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and/or Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training (DSMT). Participates in revisions to department standard workflows, policies, and procedures. Serves as the liaison between clinical dietitians, staff, physicians, patients, and family. Routinely performs all duties of a clinical dietitian as needed. Exercises sound judgement and clinical skills to develop and implement the patient’s plan of care in a timely manner. Influences change initiatives within the department with other key stakeholders. Under direction, facilitates and/or leads department participation in organization-wide performance improvement initiatives. Responsible for covering for supervisor/manager/director in their absence.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Completion of an accredited degree program and a supervised practice program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
RD-Registered Dietitian/RDN-Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
8 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Provides complex care using a strong understanding of human anatomy, pathophysiology, pharmacology, laboratory results, and medical terminology.
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills to explain complex information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized operating procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
Analytical thought and judgment to identify innovative solutions.
Critical thinking, complex problem solving, and sound judgement.
General knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and electronic health records (EHR).
Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork, collaboration, and customer service abilities.
Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.

Pay Range is $57.55 to $74.81 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
