A Life Science company based in San Diego, CA is seeking a Sr. Clinical Data Engineer to join their team. They will be responsible for the design and implementation of data models for querying, reporting, and ML workflows to help to solve challenges related to multi-model data sources, harmonization, and normalization. They will collaborate with team members to develop and maintain data solutions for clinical stakeholders; they will help to empower scientist, researchers, and management with efficient access to high-quality data insights.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering role with proven experience of analytics in conjunction with the development/maintenance of data pipelines
- Strong knowledge of ETL Processes for data integrations of relational databases (SQL) and modern data lake platform (Data bricks, Snowflake, Redshift)
- Proven experience extracting data from external vendors and building pipelines using Python
- Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines that securely ingest and integrate data from external vendor systems into a centralized layer, and final storage (RedShift)
- Advanced SQL experience for extraction, transformation, modeling, aggregation, reporting, validation, and automation
- Strong programming skills in Python and other modern programming languages
- Strong expertise with cloud infrastructure and computing platforms (AWS preferred)
- Experience with deployment tools like Jenkins, Github actions, or IaC Terraform Background in Pharma, Clinical, Biosciences and/or Life Sciences
Diversity of background in size of company (small/start up to enterprise/fortune 500)
Experience with statistical concepts and methods as it related to clinical data – descriptives, probability, hypothesis testing
Familiarity with clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ADaM) and GCP regulatory guidelines
