Provides consultation, advice and skill mentoring regarding database structure, use and report writing. Carries out quality control monitoring of data entry. Provides direction to database-assigned clerical staff in collaboration with their supervisor, regarding prioritization and processes for data entry; Carries out more complex data entry tasks, including abstracting data from medical records. Conducts periodic time studies on data entry tasks throughout the department or Center for workload monitoring efforts of the management team and provides time-saving tools for data collection. Utilizes report writing software to create reports for purposes such as reporting to various registries (i.e., the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS)), completing insurance contract requests for information (RFIs) and supplying data to clinical, operational and research projects as assigned by the supervisor. Serves as a liaison to Information Services staff in implementation of software upgrades and new installations, including testing of data after installations are completed, and, if applicable, external agencies such as National Registries & UNOS, by serving as Site Administration for data-related issues. **Qualifications** Two-year college degree or equivalent experiences (5+ years of progressive clerical experience). Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills are required. Must be self-directed and flexible. Strong knowledge of computers and database functions is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other PC software is required.
